Let's Talk Chicken

When it comes to chicken, there are so many types, all of which can be absolutely delicious. I'm going to start this section talking about Rev Chicken, a restaurant born out of the Capital Restaurant Group in 2022, that specializes in, you guessed it - chicken, though they do have other things on the menu. I stumbled upon Rev Chicken last night while searching Door Dash for something to eat, and after checking out their menu, and reading the (limited) reviews I was able to find, had to try it.

Their menu is mostly made up of Sandwiches (chicken sandwiches and burgers), Chicken Wings, Chicken Tenders, "Boxxa Nugz", which are bite sized chicken nuggets, specialty salads, and desserts. While looking at their menu, I was immediately drawn to Georgie's Chicken Sandwich, which is accurately described as "Crispy chicken between two maple waffles with sweet maple butter & crispy bacon". Seeing nothing else in sandwiches which came anywhere close to as interesting and delicious sounding as this, I decided to try it (w/regular fries), and a small box of their "nugz" with Korean BBQ Sauce.

Food costs for the order (Door Dash may be a bit more):

$10 - Georgie's Waffle Chicken Sandwich w/Fries ($8 w/o fries)
$7 - 8 pc nugz

The order came fairly quick, and it was apparent from the start that I was going to be very, very happy with my choices. The sandwich (see the cover photo above) looked amazing, and tasted even better. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, while the waffles contained just the right about of maple goodness, without making the waffles soggy, or drowning out the taste of the chicken. Those two things were so good, I almost forgot the bacon was even there, but it definitely added a bit more overall taste to the sandwich. After finishing off the sandwich, and getting pretty full in the process, I turned my attention to the "nugz". These aren't like fast-food nuggets you might be used to, but more like boneless chunks of chicken, lightly breaded and tossed in the sauce - and boy, they didn't disappoint. The chicken chunks were large, juicy, and the Korean BBQ sauce had a nice amount of heat while preserving that distinct flavor. I managed to eat about half the order before tapping out and calling it a night. I didn't really eat many of the fries so I can't talk to those too much, but the couple I had were good, though next time, I may try their waffle fries. I'm looking forward to trying more from Rev Chicken, and adding other great chicken finds around the country. Please feel free to leave your thoughts below, and thanks for reading!
